Cooperative Dispatcher Position

Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative is seeking a highly organized, dependable, and motivated individual for a full-time Dispatcher position on the overnight shift, working Monday through Friday from 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

The Dispatcher is responsible for maintaining effective communications, assisting cooperative members, coordinating field crews, and supporting outage restoration efforts. This position requires someone who can work independently, remain calm under pressure, and provide excellent customer service during overnight operations.

Experience in dispatching, customer service, utilities, or emergency communications is beneficial but not required. Supplemental training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Operate the Cooperative's radio and communications systems.
• Answer incoming telephone calls and assist members with service-related requests and outage information.
• Dispatch and coordinate crews responding to outages, trouble calls, and emergency situations.
• Maintain effective communication with field personnel, Cooperative departments, and emergency agencies as needed.
• Utilize various computer systems and operational software to obtain and record information.
• Monitor and assist with outage restoration activities.
• Maintain accurate records and reports related to dispatch operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and remain focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and make sound decisions.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of members and employees.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn specialized systems.
• Previous dispatching experience preferred but not required.

Schedule: Full-Time Monday through Friday, 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM.

Compensation: Wage based on experience and training needs.
