Winter Storm Warning

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service in Springfield for tonight, February 1st through Thursday, February 3rd. A strong winter storm is expected to bring rain, snow, and a wintry mix to the area. Up to two-tenths of an inch of ice with an additional three to six inches of snow is expected for the Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative service area. HOEC is continuing to monitor this winter storm and stands ready in the event of any power outages.

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a Winter Storm Watch beginning Tuesday evening, February 1st and continuing through Thursday, February 3rd. The storm is predicted to bring rain, snow, and wintry mix throughout the time period. As a result, power outages could occur.

HOEC reminds members to have an emergency kit prepared to help you and your family weather the storm if the power goes out. Some of the items this kit should include are bottled water, non-perishable food, flashlights, weather radio, extra batteries and extra blankets.

2022 Home & Garden Show

After a two-year hiatus, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Southern Missouri Builders Association is pleased to announce that the 30th Annual West Plains Home and Garden Show will be held on Friday, March 4th from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the West Plains Civic Center.
