May 8 Storm Outages

Severe storms that tore across Missouri left property damage and power outages behind, hitting especially hard in the south eastern portion of the state. HOEC had 1,000 members without power (mostly in Shannon County). Crews worked through the night, leaving just 140 remaining this morning. Downed trees and broken poles led to the outages (see photos from this morning, below).

We appreciate the patience of our members while our team works to restore all power safely.

Annual Meeting wrap-up

Ava Greenan, Mountain View Birch Tree FFA President, lead the attendees in the Pledge of Allegiance; Brady Walton, Willow Springs, entertained the crowd with country hits and classics.

The 85th Annual Meeting of Howell-Oregon Electric Cooperative was held Friday, May 3, 2024.

Service Availability

Starting on the June 1 due bill, you will begin seeing a line labeled "Service Availability." This is NOT a new charge. It has always been included in the Energy Charge amount on your billing statement, but now will be separately listed. This is the minimum monthly amount charged to each meter. The purpose of the service availability fee is to recover a portion of the fixed costs of providing service to our members.
